This new role will havetremendous impact through the development and execution ofrecruitment and retention strategies across the health system,enabling UVA Health to attract, engage, evaluate, hire, promote,support, and retain exceptional talent. UVA Health is an academic health system that provides excellentcare of patients, training of health professionals, and creationand sharing of knowledge within a culture that promotes equity,diversity, and inclusivity. UVA Health is an expansive networkcomprised of the UVA Medical Center, Novant Health / UVA HealthSystem, UVA Transitional Care Hospital, University of VirginiaPhysician’s Group, UVA School of Medicine, UVA School of Nursing,Claude Moore Health Sciences Library, and several other strategicpartnerships and alliances. The new role of Senior Director for Talent Acquisition andRetention for UVA Health will report directly to the University’sAVP ofTalent, with a close working relationship with the ExecutiveVice President (EVP) for Health Affairs and with UVA Medical Centersenior leadership. The Senior Director will partner closely withUVA Health’s clinical leaders and HR teams to develop theorganization’s recruitment strategy and framework across the healthsystem, enabling UVA Health to attract, engage, evaluate, hire,promote, and retain the exceptional talent needed to deliverexcellent patient care and to drive UVA Health’s strategicinitiatives. As a creative problem solver and inspiring teamleader, the Senior Director will have a seat at the table for highlevel strategic planning for UVA Health related to recruiting andretention strategies. They will partner and collaborate inleveraging the strengths and resources of UVA and UVA Health whileleading their team in recruitment and retention efforts that arestrategic, creative, responsive, and inclusive.The Senior Director must be analytical, creative, andcollaborative. They will demonstrate the ability to get things donewhile working effectively across a complex institution. They mustbe a person of integrity whose beliefs and actions align with andadvance UVA Health’s mission, values, and stated policy objectivesincluding its strong commitment to diversity, equity, andinclusion. The successful candidate will have progressivelyresponsible leadership experience in recruitment, ideally within ahealthcare environment. They must be able to listen to variousperspectives, synthesize information, make decisions, communicateconfidently and effectively, and inspire their team for exceptionalcustomer service and results.
